Details: Pyramid will hold always hold a special place for me as a show being my first time abroad and my TV show I worked on. I was after the first 5 days solo working as the Technician working alongside both our internal software developer and third-party controller who oversaw the running of the show when recording. I was exposed to technology including Blackmagic design’s Video Hub SDI switching, Teranex standards converters. Datapath 4 DVI display controllers for splitting one display out to 4 displays by virtually cutting the display out signal using “wall designer” software. I was also learning on the job through understanding best practices with cabling, interfacing with 3rd party equipment using different standards and studio standards for cable running for power, video, audio and data including labelling cables for each purpose. I was responsible for the loadout at the end of production ensuring that all equipment from both the UK and US locations was sent back to the correct places ensuing that that equipment that came from the UK matched the shipping list on the booking system and that it also matched the carnet that it was shipped over with.
